Museum of ethnography and society opened in 1997 in the citadel, the island's only fortification built inland. The ticket also gives access to the eagle's nest fortress overlooking the town and the valleys.

Musée national de la Maison Bonaparte

Napoleon's birthplace, on Rue Saint-Charles in the old town. Across three floors, furniture, family portraits and documents evoke the Bonaparte family and 18th-century Corsica.

Musée de Bastia

Housed in the Genoese Governors' Palace on Place du Donjon, it traces the history of the city and hosts temporary exhibitions. The rampart gardens look out over the Vieux-Port.

Discovered in 1946, this listed historic monument features statue-menhirs carved with faces and weapons, along a trail of about 2 km above the Taravo valley. Open from April to October.
