A marine reserve of crystal-clear, fish-filled waters, the Mar de las Calmas is one of Europe's famed diving sanctuaries: volcanic drop-offs, barracuda schools, mobula rays and the legendary El Bajón site.

Formed by ancient lava flows in the El Golfo valley, these sheltered natural pools offer turquoise swims facing the Atlantic, with sun decks and a deliciously wild atmosphere.

An old royal path climbing the El Golfo cliff: 8 km and 885 m of ascent through misty laurel forest and dizzying panoramas, before reaching the twisted junipers of nearby El Sabinar.
