No car hire and no shuttle: guesthouse bikes, quad bikes and boats to the south of the atoll

Fakarava: no hire cars, but bikes and boats

There are no car hire companies in Fakarava, and, according to Tahiti Tourisme, no independent bike or scooter hire either: you hire a bike from your accommodation, some guesthouses lend them free of charge, and a few, such as Havaiki Lodge, offer e-bikes and quad bikes. The south of the atoll and the Tumakohua pass are reached by boat, on a day trip more than an hour from Rotoava.
