A rental car can be parked at Miyajimaguchi ferry terminal while you visit the island on foot for the day.
The famous cycling and driving route connecting Honshu to Shikoku via island bridges is best explored by car or bicycle from Onomichi.
💡 Practical Info : A car is not necessary just to visit Miyajima — public transport from Hiroshima is excellent. Rent only if you want to explore the wider region.
