How long does it take to get to Vanuatu?
There are no direct flights from Europe. The journey takes at least two legs: a long-haul flight to Nouméa, Brisbane, Sydney or Nadi, then a short flight to Port Vila. Allow a day and a half to two days, including the stopover.

Which cities can you fly from?
From Europe, the simplest route is via Nouméa with Aircalin, or via Australia with a long-haul flight to Brisbane or Sydney. From Canada or the United States, Fiji Airways links Vancouver, Los Angeles and San Francisco with Nadi, then Port Vila.
On arrival and onward to the islands
Port Vila airport is 6 km from the centre. For Tanna, Santo, Malekula or Pentecost, Air Vanuatu runs domestic flights from the neighbouring domestic terminal; the MV Blue Wota ferry links Port Vila and Luganville twice a week in about 10 hours 30 minutes.
When to go and what does it cost?
The dry season, from May to October, is the most popular; Australian and New Caledonian school holidays push prices up. Compare fares over several days: with few flights to Port Vila, prices vary a lot from one day to the next.
