Official websiteccwindc.com.hkโOn Lamma, Cheung Chau and Peng Chau there are no cars at all: people get around on foot or by bike, rented for a few dozen Hong Kong dollars near the Cheung Chau and Mui Wo piers. On Lantau, the southern roads are restricted to vehicles with a special permit: NLB buses and the blue taxis (unique to Lantau) do the job. Renting a car only makes sense to explore the rest of Hong Kong from the airport; you will then need an international driving permit as well as your national licence, and traffic drives on the left.
